George Clooney is rumored to have been offered the leading role of G.I. Joe in director Stephen Sommers movie. Clooney would take the place of studio favourite Mark Wahlberg in the film, based based on the toy range and comic book series.According to The Site, "Rumor is that one of the reasons he walked away from Joe Carnahan’s White Jazz was not only due to scheduling conflicts but also because he is looking for a blockbuster to star in. The word in the Hollywood grapevine is Clooney has been offered a role in GI Joe and it’s the character of Duke."

George Clooney and Jessica Alba have been named the most desirable candidates by a poll carried out by American Yahoo users. In the survey, where people were asked which male and female celebrity they would choose for an ideal date, the women selected the Oscar Winning actor and men picked the “Fantastic Four” actress. Also appearing in the male list were Matthew McConaughey, rapper Kanye West and pop star Ricky Martin, while Jennifer Aniston, Queen Latifah and Jessica Simpson made it for the female list.
Clooney‘s commitment with Darfur crisis - 2007-08-09
For next Decemeber, HBO will put on screen “Sand and Sorrow”, a documentary about the crisis in Darfur narrated and executive produced by George Clooney. The documentary was directed, produced, edited and written by Paul Freedman., who says, “The tragic events taking place in Darfur unfortunately are a continuation of the lack of response from the international community in protecting millions of innocent lives from their own government.” The documentary also features human-rights activist John Pendergrast, Harvard professor Samantha Power and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof who went to Darfur to know the conflict.
George Clooney to leave his lanmark in Hollywood Boulevard - 2007-05-11
George Clooney is close to become an officially Hollywood legend when he leaves his hand and foot prints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on June 5. Clooney will metaphorically pass through history with this giant step in conjunction with his"Ocean's Thirteen" co-stars Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, and producer Jerry Weintraub. That night will be the movie premiere in the States. The world premiere will take place at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24.
