George Clooney is rumored to have been offered the leading role of G.I. Joe in director Stephen Sommers movie. Clooney would take the place of studio favourite Mark Wahlberg in the film, based based on the toy range and comic book series.According to The Site, "Rumor is that one of the reasons he walked away from Joe Carnahan’s White Jazz was not only due to scheduling conflicts but also because he is looking for a blockbuster to star in. The word in the Hollywood grapevine is Clooney has been offered a role in GI Joe and it’s the character of Duke."
